It's designed to maximize the impact of a defensive blow to an assailant during any "Use of Force" situation where the discharge of a firearm may not be viable or possible.
The DEFENDER product features a tapered strike edge designed to enhance any sidearm's magazine effectiveness as a defensive strike tool. The system can also be used in any situation where striking with the base of the weapon is required. Such as striking the window of a vehicle to remove an unconscious victim (Aluminum DEFENDER only).
We feel that our product adds several levels of improvement to any sidearm. This includes, but is not limited to; ease of removal of the magazine from a weapon (even in inclement weather), protecting the magazine from impact damage in "drop and discard" reloading situations and if a firearm related attack persists or critical weapon malfunction disables a weapon, the DEFENDER can be used to inflict a devastating defensive blow. The product allows the magazine itself to remain as a weapon even if it is removed from the sidearm.
