Israeli Instinctive Pistol
A tactical pistol course ideal for all who carry a pistol in the course of their service, employment or for self-defense. Regardless of your current skill, you will be trained to a level of proficiency exceeding that of many professional firearms instructors. Israeli Counter-Terror Carbine
Learn the carbine fighting techniques used by elite Israeli special operations troops and counter-terror units. Graduates from this course will fire with speed and precision and will be proficient in all aspects of carbine fighting, such as: Safety • Shooting Positions • Aiming & Sight Alignment • Magazine Changes • Malfunctions Multiple Targets • Speed & Accuracy • Closing Distance • Taking Corners • Rapid Room Clearing M16 Krav Maga (hand-to-hand combat with and without a carbine)Weapon Configuration for Urban Environments
ComBloc Carbine
This AK-47 course teaches the Israeli method for fighting with weapons such as the AK-47, Galil, Sa vz.58, or similar weapons. Identical to the Israeli Counter-Terror Carbine course, but is focused on teaching the best methods for fighting with ComBloc-style weapons. HK-style weapons may also be used in this course.
Advanced Skills
Students who have completed each level of Mako Defense training will have the opportunity to enroll in more advanced levels of training, including our Advanced Combat Skills courses. Like any effective martial art, Mako Defense Israeli Method training allows students to continually advance their skills Also, watch for special limited evening and weekday courses, such as Krav Maga, Women’s Self-Defense, Defensive Medical, and others. Custom courses are available for clubs, teams, or other shooting groups.
Military or Law Enforcement Training
Mako Defense provides courses designed specifically for the individual needs of units and agencies. We offer expert trainers with many years of real-world operational experience in fields ranging from SWAT and military special operations, to airport and critical site security and EOD. Advanced training offered to LE and military may include responding to hostage situations on aircraft and buses, advanced techniques for active shooter or school hostage situations, or advanced counter-terror security techniques.Mako Defense will teach courses designed around your organization’s SOPs and equipment. These courses can take place on one of our ranges, or we can teach at your facilities to save travel costs.Your may schedule closed classes or seminars, or join with other agencies to share the costs of a seminar or course. We also offer train-the-trainer courses for law enforcement and military at our location or yours.Law Enforcement personnel in Alaska receive Alaska Police Standards Council (APSC) credit for Mako Defense course hours.Mako Defense is the training branch of The Mako Group, a registered contractor to the United States Department of Defense.

Israeli Special Operations Instructors
Mako Defense teaches the Israeli Method of fighting exactly as it is taught to Israeli Special Forces. Mako Defense instructors have extensive experience as operators and instructors in the most elite Israeli Special Operations units, including Israeli equivalents of Delta Force, FBI HRT, Secret Service, and others. One of our instructors has responded to every hostage situation in Israel from 1995 until today.The Israeli Method is far more than typical shooting courses. It is a comprehensive system that prepares students to effectively neutralize any violent threat. Students quickly gain a high level of competence in all aspects of the use of firearms, becoming more highly trained than many firearm instructors. Students are also taught simple, effective Krav Maga techniques for unarmed defense against armed or stronger attackers. Krav Maga is known for its extremely efficient and brutal counter-attacks.The Israeli Method is designed to be as practical for off-duty police or civilians as it is for Special Forces operating behind enemy lines. It can be effectively used by an individual operating alone, a team of two, a SWAT team, or an infantry platoon. Due to this flexibility, the techniques taught in these courses are applicable to personal self-defense as well as to law enforcement work and military operations.Mako Defense courses are the ultimate in self-defense training and are specifically designed to increase the proficiency of law enforcement, military, and security personnel.Mako Defense instructors, certified by the State of Israel, teach the Israeli Method exactly as it is taught to Israeli Special Operations troops.
